The Glasshouse****, Sligo’s most avant garde building, stands adjacent to Hyde Bridge spanning the Garravogue River, on the site of  pre-1558 complex of mills which once belonged to the Yeats brothers’ grandfather, William Pollexfen. It has an award-winning restaurant.

The Best Western Sligo Southern Hotel & Leisure Centre**** is a handsome C19th edifice beside Sligo Train Station. It has an excellent restaurant.

Sligo Park Hotel & Leisure Club**** is highly rated.

The Clarion Hotel****, opened in 2005, has kept only  the façade of St Columba’s Lunatic Asylum (1855-1992). The original church and chapel in the grounds have also been renovated for banquets and wedding ceremonies etc.

The Clarion Village offers self-catering apartments.

Kevinsfort House, a Georgian manor house with its own C19th coach yard offering modern self-catering apartments, is located in a quiet, leafy district.

The Strandhill Lodge & Suites won awards in 2013 as No. 1 Small Hotel in Ireland and 13th Best Small Hotel in the World.

The Yeats Country Hotel*** at Rosses Point nowadays features a Spa & Leisure Centre.
